Year 7 Science

The year 7 students have been conducting some exciting experiments during term 3. The task (pictured above) was to make an electromagnet using a power pack and wire wrapped around a long, iron nail. The electric current flows through the wire and magnetises the nail allowing it to pick up paper clips. The students were investigating how increasing the number of turns of wire around the nail, and increasing the voltage, affected the number of paper clips picked up.

Year 11 & 12 VCE Camp 2019

Our Students are looking forward to a change of pace and scenery as the Year 11 & 12 VCE Camp dates approach. The Edmund Rice camp site is located close by at the edge of Melbourne city on large picturesque grounds and abundant camp facilities in Lower Plenty VIC. Edmund Rice Camps Inc. has been hosting camps since 1981 and their facilities are more than adequate.

This camp is an important part of our curriculum as classes will be run there in the 1st week back from the Holidays in a camp atmosphere between the 6th to the 10th of October 2019. It is a compulsory camp as there will be no classes at the school for the year 11 & year 12 students that week at the Meadow Fair Campus. Please note that some teachers are doing their assessments during these camp classes hence students who miss out will be allocated marks accordingly. We are planning a very studious and diverse camp integrating both indoor and outdoor activities, guest speakers and presenters and other educational activities for our students so it will be a nice camp for all to benefit & remember as we do our own school camps all those years ago.
